Characteristics: |
Weidner describes this species as being more elongated and the body (and caudal peduncle) not as deep compared to 'Geophagus' brasiliensis. The head is also longer and appears pointed.

Said to be around - fish that were being sold as Gymnogeophagus meridonalis are thought to be 'Geophagus' iporangensis. Pictures of this species seem to be very lacking on the internet. It's not clear if this fish is presently here in Australia or not. |
